Leaver Interview | Moksh, Class of 2022

2022-05-10

The 2021-22 academic year is fast coming to a close. Soon, another class of Wellingtonians will go out into the world to accomplish great things. Until then, some of our 2022 Leavers are reflecting on their time at Wellington and what lies on the road ahead after graduation.

Today, year 13 pupil Moksh reflects on the personal growth he has experienced in his time at Wellington. In his own words, “I would not even want to imagine not being a Wellington pupil.” Through sport and drama, he has expanded the boundaries of his comfort zone and built the confidence that made him an effective Head of College. The leadership skills he has developed will in turn pay out massive dividends when he studies law at university. Here, he shares some of the highlights of his Wellington experience.

Feeling immediately welcome

"I have attended Wellington for six years now. Initially, I was shocked and quite intimidated by the size of the school but was soon greeted by my peers and teachers and was almost immediately welcomed into the family."

Building confidence and building character

"Wellington has given me many opportunities to grow as an individual. One of the biggest things I have gained from Wellington is confidence. By participating in sports and drama, I have been able to constantly push myself out of my comfort zone, eventually leading to personal growth. I remember in year 8, I was signed up by my housemaster to audition for the school play, just to give it a try. I reluctantly auditioned and found myself in the lead role. Looking back, I am glad to have had this experience."

A strong sense of community

"What I like most about being a Wellingtonian is the strong sense of community. The constant house competitions always allowed for fun, friendly competition. I have always thought this was a great way to build strong community bonds."

Making memories, making friends

"I have many fond memories of Wellington, among my favourite is the house drama competition. I was able to bond with the people in my house regardless of age and year group, and I walked away from that competition having had loads of fun and so many new friends."

Looking to the road ahead

"After graduating, I plan on attending university to study law. After that, who knows? Whatever I do, I am sure I will be ready for it, thanks in large part to Wellington."
