British Schools Athletics Championships

On Thursday 25th February Wellington College held the first British Schools Athletics Championships. It was fantastic to see the British schools of Dulwich Shanghai, BISS Puxi, Dulwich Suzhou and Wellington compete against one another in what was a great event.
The competition was for the U.13 age group and they competed in a full range of track and field events. All schools performed to a very high standard and there were some very tightly fought events. For Wellington we had a number of stand-out performances with Coco Brandini, Alex Dyckerhoff, Owen Chau and Sam Ceyssens all either winning their events or coming runner up in the overall individual points tally.
This is just the beginning of our athletics season and I look forward to seeing the squad trying to break their PB’ s in the upcoming events. Our next event hosted here at Wellington will be the CISSA Athletics on the 16th April.
Many congratulations to Dulwich Shanghai who won the overall team award with some outstanding performances.
