Wellington College Arts Festival 2016
19-25 March 2016 Wellington College International Shanghai hosted its 2016 Arts Festival, which celebrated William Shakespeare, poet, playwright and actor, commemorating the 400th Anniversary of his death in 1616. During the Festival week, pupils, parents, staff and guests were involved in a range of activities across the arts such as theatre workshops, storytelling, documentary film, clowning, journalism, and many more. It was an exciting schedule that embraced the whole school and supplemented Wellingtonians’ education with an innovative and enjoyable immersion in the arts. The festival is designed to take children out of their timetabled comfort zones and expose them to arange of activities and disciplines they might not usually encounter. In addition to helping them prepare for a world that is fast-changing and unpredictable, the festival encourages pupils to open their eyes, take risks in unfamiliar situations, and make discoveries about their own capabilities.
