SISAC Girls Netball Season Kickstarts at Wellington

“You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.” – Arthur Ashe On Saturday 2nd September, Wellington hosted the first weekend netball tournament of the season, fielding two teams against other international schools in Shanghai. Both teams made a promising start to the season with fantastic performances from both the older, more experienced players, as well as those who are new to the sport. Individual commendations must go to Anya, who was outstanding at goal defence for the A team, as well as Francesca and Luna who both made outstanding contributions to the B team’s spirited performance. Both teams showed significant improvement throughout the morning, with the A team securing two excellent victories against Dulwich College Suzhou and BIS Puxi. During these games the team demonstrated a tangible sense of teamwork and dedication to support one another, both on and off the court. After such an exciting and auspicious start, this could very well be Wellington’s season. Go Welly! Mrs. Hayley (B team coach)
