I hope to publish my illustrated books and create narrative images that ensure marginalised people’s voices are heard. I want to bring joy and elevate the mood of anybody who views my work. "

"US schools allow a list of three to four possible majors. So, for most schools, I went with some variation of physics, philosophy, art history and STS (science, technology and society). For the UK, I mainly just applied to study physics. I want to study physics because I believe it is the discipline that comes closest to explaining the fundamental workings of the world and is therefore incredibly fascinating."

"I was debating between Notre Dame and Georgia Tech for chemical engineering. However, I finally settled on Notre Dame because I thought I would grow more as a person if I attended there. I do have thoughts on fusing my current major with computer science, which made this choice harder as Georgia Tech would be one of the best universities to do this at, but Notre Dame would build my soft skills, and its alumni network would help me in the future."

"I debated between more scientific social studies like political science and more abstract ones like philosophy, and eventually found law to be a fitting balance between the two. I like how law interrogates real-life sociopolitical issues with analytical methods typically reserved for decidedly theoretical areas of study."

"Anytime we travelled was a great memory, but I think my favourite was when we went to Beijing for a rugby tournament. I was able to spend the day playing my favourite sport, spending time with my friends and meeting people from other schools. The school has also taken us on trips to Anilao in the Philippines, where we learned scuba diving. It was a really unique experience, and I enjoyed it. Although it has been a few years, I have open water, advanced open water and rescue diver certifications."

"Wellington Shanghai encourages you to try, even if you might not initially succeed. I have always enjoyed singing; I was in the school choir and have had lessons regularly. I had, however, always been too nervous to audition for any solos or musical parts. This year, I decided to audition for the whole school production of The Wiz and got a principal role with a solo song, despite having never auditioned before. I learnt to test my limits and to just try out, even if you are unsure of the outcome."
